Indian film actor Mr. Ajay Rathinam participated in the national-level Bench Press Powerlifting Master category competition held on January 9, 2026, in Faridabad, Haryana, organized by Power Lift India, an organization affiliated with international, Asian, and Commonwealth federations. He secured first place and won the gold medal, which was presented by the General Secretary, Mr. P.J. Joseph, in the presence of the organization’s President, Mr. Satish Kumar, and Championship Secretary, Mr. Ajit Nair. At this event, his mentor and head coach, Asian Powerlifting Champion Mr. Maya Krishnan, founder and owner of Fit Tree Fitness Center and M.K. School of Powerlifting in Shenoy Nagar, and coach Mr. Dharmalingam, along with members of the Tamil Nadu and Chennai Powerlifting Associations, were also present.
It is noteworthy that actor Ajay Rathinam had previously participated in the state-level Bench Press Powerlifting competition held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on December 7, 2025, where he secured first place and received the gold medal from the Chief Guest, the Honourable Minister of Health of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Ma. Subramanian, thereby qualifying for the national-level competition.
